조선조 고종 9년(1872년)에 창건하여 소란암이라 하였는데 고종 19년(1882년)에 박선묵 스님이 독성각을 짓고 삼성암이라 개명하였다. 1936년 동운스님이 칠성각을 짓고, 1941년 중현 스님이 법당을 개축하였다. 이 곳은 산세가 수려하며 기도장소 등으로 많은 시민이 찬는 곳이다.
