창건연대는 19세기 중반~말로 추정되며 초기불교의 진언집인 밀교 개간집과 인악집, 연담집을 보유하고 있다. 가람배치는 대웅전을 위시하여 천불전, 요사채 등 4동으로 구성하여 일반적인 가람배치와는 다른 형태를 띠고 있음.
