봉성면 금봉리 261번지에 소재하고 있는 이 사찰은 1951.11.15현지에 와서 주지인 이화성이 창건하였다. 이 사찰의 법당안에 있는 석조여래 입상과 사찰의 앞에 있는 삼층 석탑은 원래 봉성면 봉성리 성황곡에 석탑 2기와 함께 옛절터에 있던 것을 현 위치로 옮겨왔으며 (석탑1기는 현 봉성초등학교에 있음) 경상북도 유형문화재로 지정되어 있다. 현재는 진표스님인 이일영씨가 주지로 정진중인 상태임
