신라 문무왕때 원효대사가 창건함. 고려 공민왕때 나옹화상이 중수. 조선 선조때 서산대사가 다시 중수. 1870년 조병로 목사가 수비청 건립을 위하여 철거후 1905년에 신도박씨에 의해 중수.
