신라시대 창녕읍 술정리에 인왕사란 포교당전신 대사찰이 있었으나 임진왜란으로 전소되자 동산서사가 옛 인왕산사를 재현한 포교당을 지음 1983년7월 금동으로 된 외함1개와 내함5개,각종 다라니와 문서가 나왔고 금동으로 된 내함중 1개의 하단에서 부처님 사리가 출현했다. 이 부처님은 옛날 관룡사 팔상전에 모셨던 부처님이었으나 전란에 소실되고 부처님은 포교당이 창건된후 이곳 주불로 모샤져 오늘에 이르럼
