신라 582년(진평왕), 의상조사(義湘祖師)가 창건하고, 고려 공민왕(1352년) 때 보각선사가 중창, 임진병화로 소실. 조선순종(1908년경)때 백의선사(白衣禪師)기 3창하였으며, 1977년 채색하고 무늬를 놓아 아담하고 단정한 모습.
