백제 무왕 28년 유마운 창건 예전에는 귀정암,금능암,운성암 등이 있었으며 1670년(현종 11년) 전라도 관찰사 김규홍이 증수하고 오호연, 김해은 주지가 보수하였음 한국동란으로 전소되었으나 박상규 주지가 현재의 대웅전 백운당 산신각 요사를 중수하였음
