용화사는 상주시 함창읍 증촌리 258번지에 소재하는 조계종 산하의 사찰로 676년(신라 문무왕 16년)에 창건하였다 이 절에는 증촌리 석불입상(보물 118호)와 증촌리 석불좌상(보물 120호)등의 불교 문화유산을 보존하고 있는 유서깊은 사찰이다.
