1938년 8월 10일 대지 100편에 김언연보살이 여암사 창건함. 1962년 조계종으로 승인과 동시 등록하였고 현재는 일붕 선교종으로 종단을 변경, 현재는 혜삼스님이 이곳에 와 관리하고 있음.
