ㅇ음성 수도사의 창건은 정확하게 알려져 있지 않으나, 1930년에 조헌창스님이 창건했다고 전한다 ㅇ이후 1970년에 청운스님이 수도사 주지로 부임하면서 야산에 농가형태로 창건된 사찰을 보수하고 도량을 정비했다. ㅇ이때 창건 당시 초가로 지어진 법당과 요사를 개수하면서 사찰로서의 면모를 갖추게 되었으며, 이후 1994년에 거의 폐사가 될 뻔한 가람을 다시 정비하고 근래에 산신각을 새로 지어 지금에 이르고 있다. ㅇ사찰 내의 법당은 정면 2간 측면 1간의 맞배지붕 건물로, 창건 당시의 건물 그대로이다. 산신각은 자연암반을 둘러싸고 지은 건물로, 산신상과 산신탱화가 봉안되어 있다.
