김해 선지사는 1950년부터 1993년까지 금선암으로 불리다가 1994년에 들어 덕천사로 개명한 후 1999년 선지사로 명문이 새겨진 기와편과 기타 유물이 출토되면서 고려시대 명찰인 선지사로 이름을 고친 사찰이다.
