655년 무렵 국사의 창건으로 전함. 석련사는 구항면 오봉리 월산 후록(後麓)에 있는데 속칭 새가시절이라고도 한다. 1동 34평에 도금목질불(鍍金木質佛) 2좌가 봉안되어 있는 고찰이다.
