약 200여년전 여승 임광세가 창건. 봉선암을 1974년 장연사로 사찰명을 개명하고 1991년 다시 봉선암의 봉자와 산세가 학이 날아가는 형세라 하여 봉학사로 사찰명을 변경하였음.
