- 강원도 고성군 건봉사 강백이였던 김경봉스님이 강원을 폐하고 고향인 충북 옥천군 청성면 마장리로 내려와 당시 유지였던 김용덕씨와 마을 유지들과 뜻을 모아 문수산에 문수암을 창건하였다.
