고려때 진각국사가 창건하였다고 하는 망운암은 범우고의 기록에 의하면 인법당과 산신각이 이미 1889년대 건립된 것으로 추정되는 등 큰스님들의 수도장 역할을 해 온 사찰이며 자비스런 모습을 띠고 있는 석조관음보살좌상은 18세기말에 조성된 것으로 추정됨.
