고려 희종 4년(1208)에 만연선사 창건 원래 보조국사 사리각,대웅전,시왕전,나한전,승당,선당,동상실,사천왕문,삼청각,학당 등의 건물이 있었으나 한국동란으로 소실 1978년 천안주지에 의해 현재의 대웅전, 나한전, 명부전, 한산정, 요사, 성주암 등이 복원됨
