조선후기에 창건된 사찰로서 대웅전의 오른편 방위에 보타산성주사란 현판이 걸려있어 도량사의 옛이름으로 추정함. 대웅전은 정면 3칸, 측면 2칸의 맞배지붕으로 1935년 중건 1938년에 중수되었음
