신라고찰이라 구전되나 연대는 확실치 않음. 200여년전 경자년에 수해로 요사전채가 매몰되어 사찰역사와 서류일체를 분실하였음. 대웅전은 92년도 수해시 붕괴되어 중수하지 못하고 조립식 건물을 건축하여 사용하고 있음.
