- 차를 끓여도 좋을만큼 맑은 물이 있다는 의미를 지니고 있으며, 그 이름은 예전에 이곳에절을 지으려 할때 오래된 괴목나무 옆에 우물이 있어 깨끗이 청소하였더니, 바위에 "다천"이라 새겨진 글씨가 발견되어 지었다고 함. 결국 다천사의 우물은 「차를 끓이던 물」로 사용되었을 것인데, 예전에 이물을 바르고 백일 기도를 했던 나병환자가 병이 나았다는 영험한 이야기도전해오고 있음. - 1946. 2. 8(음력) 벽산스님이 최초창건(대웅전, 요사,종각, 사천왕문) - 1990년 140㎡규모의 양옥 요사채 건립 - 1991년 대웅전을 목조기와집 80㎡규모로 개축 - 1992.8.20 전통사찰 지정
