내원암은 창건당시부터 고종년간에 걸친 일련의 기록들이 화재로 소실되어 문헌적 자료들이 아직 뒷받침되고 있지는 않지만 19세기의 여러 불화와 건축물이 현존하며 1973년의 살얌누기록 등이 있어 적어도 조선후기에는 사찰이 존속되었음을 알 수 있음. 현 내원암에는 1873년에 중수(상량문기록)한 법당 1채가 있고 법당좌측에는 조립식 요사채가 위치하며 법당주변에는 수력이 700년 이상 된 고사목, 100년 내의 수령의 배롱나무, 조선시대 기와편 및 백자편이 산재되어 있으며 법당내에는 18~19세기에 조성된 것으로 보이는 석조불상 1구, 19세기경에 제작된 것으로 추정되는 독성탱화와 산신탱화등이 소장되어 있음.
