신라 무열왕때 품일장군과 그 아들이 관창이 백제정복을 위해 이곳에 야숙. 관창이 황산벌에서 전사하자 품일장군이 명복을 비는 마음에서 창건. 임진왜란 때 소실, 1946년 박남파 스님이 법당을 건립하고 금성사라 칭함.
