마을 뒤인 북쪽의 의상봉 발치에있다. 신라때 세워졌던 사찰로서 이지방에서 강장 오랜된 절이라고 한다. 견암사,해삼사,동암사등 세절이마주 있었다고 하나 지금은 동암해삼이라는 지명과 사지만 남아 있다. 고견사는 의상대사가 이곳에 와서쉬었으며 사후 저승에서 해매다가 재생하여 보니 옛날에 본 절이라하여고견사라 하였으며 의상대사가 쉬던곳으로 의상봉이라 부른다
