1935년 여신도인 김경림(金瓊林)이 절에 10여칸의 법당을 시주한 것을 기리고 있다. 괴산읍 칠성면 두천리에 있던 도덕암(道德庵)이 폐사됨에 따라 현재의 개심사 자리에 전각을 짓고 불상 2체를 옮겨왔다고 전해지며, <개심사기>에는 이어서 김경림의 시주 이후 긍허(亘虛)스님이 절에 주석하여 인근의 신도들을 중심으로 절이 발전했다고 기록되어 있다. 절의 창건을 1935년 무렵으로 볼수 있다. 현재 절에는 대웅전, 삼성각, 종각, 요사3채가 있다. 소장 문화재로는 목조여래좌상, 목조관음보살좌상(충북 유형문화재 173)이 지정되어 있다. 신도회장 괴산군지부 안병옥 833-2222
