한발이 심할때 이곳 암자에서 솟는 물은 마르지 않았다고 하며 단맛이 보여 감천이라 하였다함 1887년 9월경에 조그만 암자가 건립되었으며 이후 1936년에 초대 주지 황영달 스님이 암자를 증축하여 감천암이라 명명하였음 1971년 2대 주지 오묘정 스님이 대웅전, 요사체 등을 재건하여 현재에 이른다고 함
