한발이 심할때 이곳 암자에서 솟는 물은 마르지 않아 식수로 이용하였다고 하며 물맛이 달아 감천이라 하였고 이곳에 조그만 암자를 건립하였다고 하며 1936년 감천암이라 칭함.
